Yes, Java moss will take over your tank if not maintained properly. Java moss may be a slow-growing plant, but it can easily turn into a tangled mess depending on your setup.
Once it has gotten accustomed to its new environment, Java moss will not hesitate to attach to anything it comes into contact with, including rocks, gravel, tank ornaments, and even other plants.
