Celestial pearl danios eat a wide variety of live foods, including:
- Baby brine shrimp
- Daphnia
- Krill
- Moina
- White worms
- Grindal worms
Celestial pearl danios are opportunistic feeders, so they’ll gladly eat anything that can fit into their small mouths. In the wild, they’ll eat small invertebrates, aquatic plants, algae, and zooplankton. In captivity, they’ll also munch on frozen food, such as frozen brine shrimps, as snacks.
You can supplement their diet with commercial fish food, as long as it’s small enough to fit into their mouths. Because these shy fish typically stick to the bottom of the tank, make sure to provide them with sinking flakes and pellets.
