How long do killifish live?

Killifish live two to five years in aquariums. To help them live longer, make sure to give them the right tank environment.

Keeping their water temperature and tank pH levels balanced will help them stay healthy. Ideally, the water should be from 72–75°F (22–23°C), and should have a pH level of 6.0–7.0. Use a water filter to keep the water hardness at 122–162 ppm.

Taking good care of your killifish will also help them stay happy and healthy. Killifish are jumpers, so be sure to cover their tank with a tight lid to keep them safe. Put rocks and floating plants in their tank so they can hide and explore.

With the right tank environment, killifish can live up to five years in home aquariums.
