How long can a killifish live out of water?

A killifish can live out of water for up to 66 days, depending on the species. Some killifish species have adapted to life out of water due to their natural habitats drying up in dry seasons.

Mangrove killifish, for example, are able to reproduce and survive out of water for over two months by hunting insects, and by breathing and excreting air through their skin.
