Do pea puffers eat ramshorn snails?

Yes, pea puffers eat ramshorn snails. In the wild, pea puffers are known to eat small creatures, including fish, snails, and insects. They won’t hesitate to do so in captivity either.

In fact, pea puffers love snails so much that they will even eat larger snails. Aside from ramshorn snails, pea puffers will also eat Malaysian trumpet snails, pond snails, bladder snails, and more.

Unlike larger pufferfish, pea puffers sometimes won’t bite through the snail’s shell. Instead, pea puffers often attack the snail’s soft foot and suck it out of its shell, leaving empty snail shells scattered across the tank.
