The most peaceful gourami is the honey gourami. Also known as sunset or red flame gourami, this fish is incredibly gentle and good-natured. Honey gouramis are timid and reclusive, but also playful. They’re perfect for community tanks, as they are unlikely to show aggression towards their tankmates, except when they’re spawning.
Additionally, honey gouramis only grow to be 2-3 inches long. Considering their small stature, they’re less likely to eat their tank mates than other gourami types.
