Angelfish can live with the following fish:
- Platies
- Mollies
- Plecos
- Corydoras catfish
- Discus fish
- Dwarf gouramis
- Zebra loaches
- Kuhli loaches
- Rainbow kribs
- Ram cichlids
These fish species are generally peaceful, making them great tank mates for the more aggressive angelfish.
You should introduce tank mates when your angelfish are still young, as young angelfish are less likely to exhibit aggression and territorial behaviors. Also, young angelfish will have similar sizes to their tankmates, so they won’t be tempted to munch on smaller tankmates.
Lastly, check the tank dynamics regularly and be prepared to remove some fish if the situation becomes hostile.
