What do mystery snails eat?

Mystery snails mostly eat green algae and vegetation. In captivity, mystery snails often eat fish waste, biofilm, and leftover fish food as well. They are opportunistic eaters and have an immense appetite. Don’t be surprised if they immediately rush and eat any food that’s thrown into the tank.

Aside from their natural scavenger diet, it’s also recommended to supplement your mystery snails’ diet with other food, such as:

  • Sinking fish flakes or pellets
  • Algae wafers
  • Blanched vegetables, such as kale and spinach
  • Sliced cucumber or zucchini

Feed your mystery snails at least once a day and provide whatever amount they can devour within five minutes. This will help keep them happy and healthy.
