The following fish can live with a betta:
- Cory catfish
- Neon tetras
- Feeder guppies
- Kuhli loaches
Aside from other fish, bettas can also live with mystery snails, ghost shrimp, and African dwarf frogs.
However, you shouldn’t keep multiple bettas together, as they are very aggressive and may fight and injure each other.
Before adding any fish to your betta’s tank, make sure they’re free of disease and parasites, clean the tank, and check the water condition. Lastly, don’t dump the tank mates into the water. Acclimate them to the tank first by floating them in a plastic bag.
