How many cherry shrimp should be kept together?

At least ten cherry shrimp should be kept together. If you intend to have a species tank with only cherry shrimp, ten is the minimum recommended amount. Keeping more shrimp together will limit aggressive and dominant behavior from the shrimp. Moreover, you’ll be able to see their natural behavior more clearly.

Make sure to keep them in a 5-gallon tank or larger. For every two to five additional shrimp, add another gallon to the tank size.

If you’re thinking of adding cherry shrimp into a community tank, aim for two to five shrimp per gallon to help keep the tank cleaner. Also, don’t forget to account for other tank inhabitants when deciding how many cherry shrimp to keep.
